Executive Assistant to the CEO

Scoop News Group is the leading media and events organization in Washington, DC. We are seeking an experienced and professional Executive Assistant to the CEO to work primarily out of our beautiful downtown DC office. This individual will report to the CEO, work closely with the VP of Operations, as well as support the rest of the Executive Team on special projects.

As Executive Assistant to the CEO, you will:
  • Manage the CEO's inbox and calendar.
  • Brief the CEO on any important daily deadlines and priorities.
  • Correspond and communicate regularly with leaders from government and the tech industry in a timely, diplomatic, and gracious manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with government offices and maintain a fine-tuned sense of priorities and time sensitivity.
  • Schedule in-person or online meetings, and coordinate schedules of all meeting attendees, as well as prepping the CEO for meetings.
  • Book meeting venues and rooms.
  • Work on special research projects.
  • Assisting the CEO with proposals and invoicing.
  • Manage some administrative activities in the office.
  • Run errands for CEO and Executive Team.
  • Assist the CEO with some project management activities.
  • Assist the CEO and VP of Operations with special projects, as needed.
  • Attend to incoming inquiries via phone and email.
  • Make travel arrangements for leadership and other employees.
A successful candidate will have these desired skills and experience (though all not required to apply):
  • 8+ years of related experience.

Education Reporter

Editorial Intern

Scoop News Group seeks an editorial intern who will help cover the intersection of information technology and the public sector.

The editorial intern will be responsible for researching, writing and producing online news stories. Duties include conducting and transcribing interviews, fact-checking stories, working with our social media platforms, and other editorial tasks.

Candidates must demonstrate strong writing skills and a good eye for news, as well as a willingness to throw themselves into the world of technology and public sector policy. We love go-getters, so you will have the opportunity to pitch and pursue own stories. Knowledge of technology is a plus, but not necessary if you’re willing to work hard. College juniors, seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
