Customer Experience Relationship Manager, SNG || Washington, DC

Scoop News Group is the leading public sector tech media company in the country and is headquartered in Washington, DC. We are seeking an experienced and talented Customer Experience Relationship Manager to work out of our beautiful downtown DC office. This individual will work on our Customer Experience team and report to the SVP of Customer Experience (CX).

As our Customer Experience Relationship Manager, you will:
  • Provide a customer experience environment which ensures long-term, lasting relationships with our clients.
  • Oversee a portfolio of assigned accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with our Sales, Events, Operations and Content Marketing teams to ensure client projects are delivered on time and on schedule.
  • Manage internal, company-wide projects, acting as liaison between our company's teams, from point-of-sale to execution.
  • Ensure all client project obligations are met and project outcomes are reported.
  • Participate on client project calls and work collaboratively across internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Improve processes, communication, outcomes, and productivity across the organization.
  • Provide a future roadmap for increased account activity to internal sales team and clients.
A successful candidate will have these desired skills and experience (though all not required to apply):
  • 8+ years of related experience.
  • PMP certification preferred but not required.
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Great communication skills (verbal and written) with a positive attitude!
  • Willingness to wear multiple hats and get the job done.

  • Ability to multi-task required.

Full Stack Web Developer, SNG || Washington, DC

Scoop News Group is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer who will support our front-end web developer and graphics team in daily tasks, with a priority focus on various back-end web projects, ranging from server-side programming and database integration to website maintenance and security. This individual will work closely with our front-end web developer and report to the SVP of Operations.

Daily responsibilities include the following tasks:
  • Maintenance of multi-site infrastructures and backups
  • or analytics and statistics reports on server load as a measure of server health
  • Use back-end frameworks to build server-side software
  • Database creation, integration, and management
  • When time permits, switch focus to front-end on-going web projects as needed
A successful candidate will have these desired skills and experience (though all not required to apply):
  • Working knowledge of web server technologies, such as: Apache and/or Nginx
  • Working knowledge of database management systems, such as: MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB
  • Working knowledge of PHP
  • Working knowledge of cloud computing integration, such as public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, or other private cloud environments
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Command of written and spoken English
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills

Editorial Intern, SNG || Washington, DC

Scoop News Group seeks an editorial intern who will help cover the intersection of information technology and the public sector.

The editorial intern will be responsible for researching, writing and producing online news stories. Duties include conducting and transcribing interviews, fact-checking stories, working with our social media platforms, and other editorial tasks.

Candidates must demonstrate strong writing skills and a good eye for news, as well as a willingness to throw themselves into the world of technology and public sector policy. We love go-getters, so you will have the opportunity to pitch and pursue own stories. Knowledge of technology is a plus, but not necessary if you’re willing to work hard. College juniors, seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Director of Events, SNG || Washington, DC

The ideal candidate is an operations and logistics guru who thrives on building community experiences, and bringing people together in innovative and exciting ways.

Job Duties:
  • Collaborate with event operations, marketing and sales teams to develop event concepts and plans, including marketing plans, social media outreach and press releases
  • Conduct site visits, negotiate with and secure event venues
  • Develop and manage project timelines; provide regular updates to the management team
  • Manage event logistics, working closely with vendors such as caterers, transportation service providers, A/V, decorators, freight, etc.
  • Oversee onsite event execution, from set-up through teardown, as event host and the main point of contact for vendors and sponsors
  • Execute agreements and process vendor payments, ensuring timeliness and adherence to budget
  • Oversee event registration: manage the registration database, monitor online registrations, compile weekly and final registration reports, reconcile registration data post-event, respond to registration-related questions, manage on-site registration
  • Special projects as required
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of eight years’ experience in events, preferably in operations or marketing
  • Able to show successful execution of past events (online or through printed materials)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • High-energy and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed (15% of the time)
  • Bachelor's Degree

Executive Assistant to the CEO, SNG || Washington, DC

Scoop News Group is the leading media and events organization in Washington, DC. We are seeking an experienced and professional Executive Assistant to the CEO to work primarily out of our beautiful downtown DC office. This individual will report to the CEO, work closely with the VP of Operations, as well as support the rest of the Executive Team on special projects.

As Executive Assistant to the CEO, you will:
  • Manage the CEO's inbox and calendar.
  • Brief the CEO on any important daily deadlines and priorities.
  • Correspond and communicate regularly with leaders from government and the tech industry in a timely, diplomatic, and gracious manner.
  • Develop strong relationships with government offices and maintain a fine-tuned sense of priorities and time sensitivity.
  • Schedule in-person or online meetings, and coordinate schedules of all meeting attendees, as well as prepping the CEO for meetings.
  • Book meeting venues and rooms.
  • Work on special research projects.
  • Assisting the CEO with proposals and invoicing.
  • Manage some administrative activities in the office.
  • Run errands for CEO and Executive Team.
